Robert Schwartz MD FACC
Dr. Schwartz is currently the Medical Director of the Minnesota Cardiovascular Research Institute in Minneapolis, MN. He has also served as Director of the Center of Applied Vascular Biology and Interventions at the Mayo Foundation in Rochester, MN. From 1991 to 1995 he served as Professor of Medicine at the Mayo School of Medicine and as a Consultant in the Division of Cardiovascular Diseases and Internal Medicine at the Mayo Clinic. He is a Fellow in the American College of College of Cardiology, a Fellow of the American Heart Association Council on Clinical Cardiology, a Fellow of the Society for Cardiac Angiography and Interventions, as well as a member of several industry related organizations focused upon interventional cardiology and medical imaging. He is a member of the editorial board of several peer reviewed journals including Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, the Journal of Clinical investigation, Circulation, Circulation Research, the Journal of the American College of Cardiology, the American Heart Journal, and several others. He has lectured at hundreds of cardiology meetings both in the US and outside of the United States. He is the inventor on over 60 patents for devices related to cardiology and has published more than 200 articles in peer-reviewed journals.
